What was the biggest factor in your success?

My faith in God, myself and my unyielding desire to succeed. More often than not people are afraid of taking risks because there’s a chance one could fail. I say take that perception and throw it out of the window there’s no such thing as failure. Even if you don’t accomplish your goal when you jump out and take a risk, you walk away with something you could leverage for a bigger opportunity. I came to DC in July 2012 after the presidential election. Republican staffer jobs and lobbyist jobs were scarce. Things were so bad that my only choice was to go back to Chicago or start my own consulting shop. I chose the latter and Caldwell Strategic Consulting was born. Since then we have had amazing success and that success would have never occurred without taking a risk. Live life like you could never fail and you WILL see greater results.

What advice would you give to other millennials?

Our generation is the most innovative and diverse; we take big risks but sometimes we give up easily. My advice is never give up. If it takes 15 years for you to accomplish your goal, stay constant, focused and adjust if necessary, but never give up.

Does the GOP have a future and why?

The Democratic Party has failed us. Poll after poll shows Americans are not happy with the direction of our country. The economy hasn’t fully recovered, leaving us with almost $20 trillion in debt and a GDP that hasn’t broken the 3% growth rate for the first time in any president’s term. In addition, Americans feel less safe than they did eight years ago — thus providing a major opportunity for Republicans. As many in our generation have, we must continue to provide contrast to the failed policies of the left. People are hungry for change and the GOP is the only party that can offer that.
