Why is it important that at this particular point in time, right-of-center youth become involved publicly, whether in politics, media, their communities, or in other capacities?

As the next generation we have a responsibility to shape the debate and build the future. We are the generation of innovation, ideas, and action, and if we want to see the society we envision then we must be engaged. We cannot sit on the sidelines and let the other side shape the debate and world around us and simply complain. We are the next generation and should be the ones on the frontlines of creating a freer society for the next generation coming up behind us.

What must elected officials and others in positions of leadership do to make a right-of-center message resonate with the Millennial generation?

The very first thing is to listen and learn what matters most to the Millennial generation. Only after understanding the needs and wants of the Millennial generation can elected officials move to provide right-of-center solutions. Anything outside of this is simply providing solutions looking for a problem.

Where would you like to see the conservative movement in 10 years — and how can it get there?

I would like to a see a conservative movement that looks like America. If the movement is to survive as a party or movement, we must be inclusive of all Americans. I believe Sen. Rand Paul says it best — we have to be the party that protects the entire bill of rights, not just an amendment here and there. We have to set preconceived notions and stereotypes to the side. We need to engage African-American and Latino-American voters the same way we engage pro-life and 2nd amendment voters. The movement I see 10 years from now is the one that truly works to protect and defend liberty and justice for all.
