Growing up in a family of small business owners, the party of limited government was an obvious choice for Alex Schriver.

“I saw the value of conservative principles and the importance of conservatism when it comes to starting and owning a business,” Schriver told Red Alert Politics. “And that’s something that has carried with me throughout my time in college.”

After graduating with a B.A. in Political Science from Auburn University in 2010, Schriver was elected Chairman of the College Republican National Committee, a position he held from August 2011 to March 2013. During his tenure at the CRNC, Schriver spearheaded efforts to market conservative principles to college students ahead of the 2012 election.

“We deployed over 60 staff members into over 20 states solely to recruit new members to College Republicans, and we launched a super PAC called Crossroads Generation,” he told Red Alert. “There’s a huge difference in talking about young people and talking to young people and Crossroads certainly did the latter.”

Schriver is excited about using his new position as a political operative to recruit more young people to the party.

“I think we are entering into such a critical part of history for young conservatives,” he noted, adding that he hopes to “rebrand the party to make conservatism cool.”

In this tumultuous economic and political climate, Schriver recommends young conservatives keep their chins up and seize every opportunity that comes their way.

“Everything is an opportunity and you have to be willing to stay positive, especially in this era now,” Schriver said. “Opportunities that come your way are there to be taken advantage of.”
