You’re never too young to be a Republican. Or at least that’s the advice Ohio College Republicans Chairman Sam Bain would give to young people who want to begin a career in conservative politics.

Bain, 23, has followed conservative politics ever since his childhood years listening to Rush Limbaugh in his mom’s car.

“Politics was kind of ingrained in me growing up,” he said.

As the state chair of the Ohio CRs, Bain works to get out the vote for important races and to increase the number of young people involved in conservative politics.

“There are more young Republicans than what we’ve seen in the past,” he said. “I think there’s definitely room for growth.”

On top of his work with the CRs and his busy schedule as a fifth year senior at Sinclair College, Bain also works as a field operative for American Commitment.

“I help merge the gap between public policy and grassroots involvement,” he said. “We seek to engage and educate the American electorate on key issues based on individual freedoms.”

According to Bain, the most important thing for young conservatives to remember is to never be afraid.

“They say, ‘how dare young people be conservatives’,” he said. “But you are on the right side of the issues and you will be proven right eventually, so stick with it. You have nothing more to be afraid of if you are standing up for what you believe in.”
