Rachel Maddow continues her War on Facts with inaccurate wage gap claims

An unhappy anniversary: three years without a federal budget

Today marks the the third year since the Democrat controlled Senate has passed a budget, and the White House does not seem to care.

The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 mandates that Congress must approve a budget each year by April 15. In the Senate, where Democrats currently control 53 seats, only 51 votes are needed to pass a budget. Considering it one of the few legislative pieces that cannot be filibustered, Senate Democrats should have had no problem passing a budget.

White House promises to veto student loan bill

The White House is threatening to veto the GOP bill to extend the current student loan interest rates, even after President Obama spent this week pandering to college students in North Carolina, Colorado and Iowa about the student loan extension.

The House passed its bill Friday by a 215-195 vote mostly along party lines, with 30 Republicans voting against it and 13 Democrats voting for it.

The deadline for extending the student loan interest rates is June 30, after which the interest rates on federally guaranteed loans will double.

Democrats have chosen to expand the “War on Women” by expanding the 1994 Violence Against Women Act to include illegal immigrants, gays and lesbians, and those living on Indian reservations.

The law has been unanimously renewed by Congress each time it has come up for a vote since 1994.

Is President Obama trying too hard to be “Cool?”

American Crossroads released a new video today mocking President Obama’s celebrity-like presidency, called ”Cool,” and features Obama dancing on the Ellen Degeneres show, calling Kanye West a “jackass,” and his recent appearance Late Night Jimmy Fallon.

Girls gone wild…on Capitol Hill

If law school doesn’t work out for Sandra Fluke, we may have found another way for her to get back on Capitol Hill.

Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis announced today that the winner of his #1 rated HDNet reality show, “The Search for the Hottest Girl in America,” will win an internship on Capitol Hill.

Francis plans to use a four-week internship in Washington, DC with Senator Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) he won at an LA auction as a prize on the TV show. For context, Pryor was the Democratic Senator who voted against Obama’s Buffet Rule.

Young Republicans rally around Mitt Romney

Young conservatives and Republicans began amping up their excitement and support for presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney Tuesday, after a Newt Gingrich aide leaked that Gingrich will drop out of the race next Tuesday.

After the news broke, Gingrich said he expects Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee and called on the party to unite behind the former Massachusetts governor.

The College Republican National Committee is one youth organization rallying behind Romney.
