Virginia Ron Paul supporter named delegate to the Republican National Convention

I got to Richmond, Va. Friday afternoon with time to spare before my meeting with the Republican Party of Virginia’s nominations committee to see if I would be selected as one of Virginia’s 13 at-large delegates to the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.

A number of other candidates milled around outside the room; former Congressman Tom Davis and former Gov. Jim Gilmore each had meetings with the committee to see if they would go to Tampa.

A number of Ron Paul activists from Northern Virginia asked me to toss my hat into the ring, so I put together a bio and stated my case. I ran for office at a young age, helped out on a number or Republican campaigns and traveled to train conservative activists nationwide.

On this 68th D-Day anniversary, Pause to reflect on soldiers’ sacrifice

This was the message was transmitted by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of Allied Expeditionary Forces, to the brave men who were preparing to storm the beaches at Normandy in a drive to puncture Nazi defenses on the European mainland on June 6, 1944.

Codenamed “Operation Neptune,” a nod to the Roman god of the sea, the assault was, and is still, the largest amphibious invasion in world history, comprised of more than 150,000 American, British, Canadian and Free French forces.

The successful invasion forced Nazi Germany to fight the war on two fronts, draining resources and ending the war on the European front less than a year later.

Will Waukesha Come Through for Scott Walker Again in Next Week’s Recall Election?

WAUKESHA CO., Wisc. – I’m about thirty minutes west of Milwaukee in heavily Republican Waukesha County, with about 80 other Young Republicans as part of a deployment of D.C., North Carolina and Virginia Young Republicans to help Get Out the Vote for Republican Governor Scott Walker ahead of his recall election on Tuesday, June 5.

In 2010,  Walker garnered nearly 72% of the vote in this Milwaukee suburban county – more than 134,000 votes cast and the most raw votes from any county statewide.

Bummed Ron Paul is limiting his campaigning? Then join his fight for liberty

In an email to supporters, Congressman Ron Paul announced he would no longer invest resources in states, which have not yet held their primaries.

This should be no surprise for many supporters paying close attention to the campaign, whose coordinated “money bombs” have yielded less and less support from Paul’s dedicated fans. (Disclosure: I have contributed a number of times this cycle to Paul’s campaign.)

Paul’s ideological crusade has retreated from state primaries and regrouped at state conventions to in an effort to elect as many delegates as possible to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, and to elect state and local party leaders.

In a 3-way race, polls show Ron Paul steals young voters from Barack Obama

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney edges out President Obama by five points in a three-way race between Romney, Obama and Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), according to a new poll released by the Republican firm Rasmussen Reports.

A telephone poll taken of 1,000 likely voters on May 6-7 reveals Republican-possibly-turning-independent candidate Paul would garner 13%, giving Republican nominee Mitt Romney a 44%-39% advantage over Democrat incumbent Barack Obama.
