A rising senior at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Morgan is pursuing a double major in English and Mathematics. Having been an integral writer and editor for The Observer at Boston College since her freshman fall semester, Morgan holds the position of Editor-in-Chief at The Observer and will continue to do so for the academic period of 2012-2013. Morgan is currently a summer intern at The Washington Examiner.

Forbes Ranks “America’s Coolest Cities,” Youth Presence And Strong Economy Impact “Cool” Factor

Forbes recently released its list of “America’s Coolest Cities,” and Houston, TX tops the list. Among the “cool” criteria that Forbes considered are median age, entertainment and recreational opportunities, non-chain restaurants, cultural composition, and unemployment rates.

According to Forbes, the list “favor[s] places with a large young adult population.” Houston grabbed the number one spot with a young median age of 33. Houston also offers many restaurants, art galleries, museums, and a strong theater scene.

Forbes also emphasized the strength of Houston’s economy: “With the local economy humming through the recession, Houston enjoyed a 2.6 percent job growth last year and nearly 50,000 Americans flocked there in response—particularly young professionals,” wrote Morgan Brennan, a Forbes staff writer.

Cruz And Dewhurst Await Results In Tight Texas Senate Primary Race

Today former state Solicitor General Ted Cruz and Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst will face off in what will likely be a close primary for the Republican nomination in Texas’ Senate race

Though Dewhurst has won statewide office three times and is supported by Texas Governor Rick Perry, a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling on Sunday shows Cruz leading Dewhurst by 10 points 52 – 42 percent, with only six percent of those polled saying they were still undecided.

Newt Gingrich: Obama has “wacked out ideas”

At a Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute conference on conservative leadership Friday, former 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was not shy to voice his disagreement with President Barack Obama, calling the President incompetent and his ideas “wacked out.”

Obama’s “wacked out ideas,” Gingrich explained, are representative of the academic class that sits around talking about obnoxiously intellectual books over cocktails. As a result, Obama was unprepared and incompetent when he took office, according to Gingrich. He explained that the pPresident was “shocked to discover that shovel ready jobs weren’t shovel ready,” among other things.
