Obama baits supporters with chance to meet basketball stars

In an attempt to ‘one-up’ GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the Obama 2012 campaign relaunched its “Obama Classic fundraising gimmick Tuesday.

In an email to supporters Obama for America invites allies to donate to the president in hopes of winning two spots at what the campaign is calling the “Obama Classic,” an event that will give attendees the chance to shoot hoops with basketball stars like Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks and chat with Michael Jordan—and yes, President Obama—over dinner.

Sandra Fluke, Why Won’t You Go Away?

Apparently, Sandra Fluke is extending her fifteen minutes of fame for the testimony she never got to share. Fluke will reportedly join President Barack Obama in Denver on Wednesday, where she will introduce him to the crowd.

A now-graduated Georgetown Law student, Fluke rose to D-list political stardom in February when she was not allowed to testify at a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on the topic of contraception. Several Democrats subsequently walked out of the hearing in disapproval.

Fluke has been outspoken about her belief that Obamacare should require religious institutions like Georgetown to cover contraception and abortifacients in their health insurance plans.

Political Parody of Gotye Song Calls for “Obama That I Used to Know”

Just New Productions has posted a video to YouTube that parodies the popular song “Somebody That I Used To Know” by Gotye and points out the ways in which Obama has betrayed Americans and strayed from his promise of “change” in 2008. From predator drones and Guantanamo Bay to unemployment and his Nobel Peace Prize, the parody leaves no Obama stone unturned.

The song “Obama That I Used to Know” is sung by a man and a woman and ironically begins with an audio recording of Obama discussing the “hymn that will heal this nation,” his famous “Yes we can” tagline, that was taken from his Democratic nomination speech in 2008.

Pelosi claims Reid’s attack on Romney’s taxes is “true”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is defending Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) against widespread criticism for his unsubstantiated accusation that GOP nominee Mitt Romney did not pay taxes for 10 years.

Pelosi told The Huffington PosSunday, “Harry Reid made a statement that is true. Somebody told him. It is a fact.” Pelosi continued, “Whether he did [pay taxes] or not can easily be disposed of: Mitt Romney can release his tax returns and show whether he paid taxes.”

RNC Releases Snarky Birthday Cards For Obama’s 51st Birthday

By now, almost every American is well aware that the president’s 51st birthday is just around the corner, thanks in part to his constant, egotistical reminders. So to capitalize on this monumental occasion, the Republican National Committee has provided a way for average Americans to wish their Commander-in-Chief a “Happy Birthday” with snarky cards that remind the president of what a failure he is.

The RNC offers a sizeable selection of birthday cards and perhaps the most clever card features a birthday cake next to the words, “You Didn’t Bake That,” clearly making fun of Obama’s comment to business owners, “you didn’t build that.”

Jon Stewart Slams Harry Reid For Allegations About Romney’s Taxes

On Wednesday, comedian Jon Stewart featured a segment on The Daily Show called “You, Harry Reid, are terrible” during which he shamed the Senate Majority Leader for speculating about Romney’s taxes. Reid recently told The Huffington Post that a Bain insider claimed that Romney “didn’t pay taxes for 10 years,” after which Reid said, “Do I know that that’s true? Well, I’m not certain.”

Jon Stewart fired back at Reid: “Here’s a rule of thumb: If you have to follow your claim with the words ‘I don’t know if that’s true,’ then shut up. Otherwise you might as well put a dead cocker spaniel on your head and start yelling about birth certificates.”

He continued to scold Reid, saying, “You’re the Senate Majority Leader; you can’t just run to the Side-Boob Gazette with ridiculous speculations about what may or may not be in Mitt Romney’s taxes. That’s this show’s job.”

Obama congratulates record-breaking Olympian Michael Phelps via Twitter

President Barack Obama personally took to Twitter to congratulate Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps for winning yet another Olympic Gold medal Wednesday.

POTUS said of the Olympian, “Congrats to Michael Phelps for breaking the all-time Olympic medal record. You’ve made your country proud. –bo.”

Kristi Yamaguchi Endorses Romney In New Olympics Ad, Receives Twitter Hate

Olympic Gold Medalist and Figure Skater Kristi Yamaguchi is getting a lot of hate for her endorsement of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney in a recent video produced by Romney Super PAC Restore our Future in which she praises Romney for the success of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Angry liberals are taking to Twitter to slam Yamaguchi with inappropriate personal attacks, Twitchy has reported.

On July 30, John Gravener (@johngravener) wrote, “So @kristiyamaguchi hates women, poor people, and gays.” Equally harsh was a tweet by @tcita, stating: “I assume all the Olympic coverage reminding her that she’s a hasbeen drove Kristi Yamaguchi to make this commercial.” Marcus Garza (@Marcus_Garza) even suggested stripping her of her Olympic accomplishments, stating, “Can we take her medals away?”
