David Limbaugh: ‘It doesn’t compute’ to Obama that his policies don’t work

Barack Obama’s devotion to his liberal ideology dogma is in the way of his implementing policies that will get the nation out of the recession,  according to columnist and author David Limbaugh, who spoke  Tuesday at  the Heritage Foundation’s  Bloggers Briefing.

Limbaugh discussed his new book The Great Destroyer: Barack Obama’s War on the Republic and shared his assessment of the Obama presidency.

He criticized conservatives who to lack his sense of urgency.

“I am really weary of people on our side of the aisle especially who downplay Obama, downplay his extravagance…If they are conservatives, they have blinders on because this is phenomenally bad,” Limbaugh said.

DOJ offers $1M reward for slain border patrol officer’s killers

The Department of Justice unsealed an indictment Monday charging five individuals in connection with the slaying of Randall Terry, the border agent killed as a result of Operation Fast and Furious, along with a $1 million FBI reward for information leading to the capture of four fugitives still at-large.

Manuel Osorio-Arellanes, Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga, Ivan Soto-Barraza, Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes and Lionel Portillo-Meza were charged with murder and other crimes related to Terry’s death. A fifth and sixth suspect have been in custody since Dec. 2010.

Justice for Terry was all over the lips of members of both parties during the debate over finding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress on June 28.

“Agent Terry served his country honorably and made the ultimate sacrifice in trying to protect it from harm, and we will stop at nothing to bring those responsible for his murder to justice,” Holder said in a press release announcing the reward.

Obama glosses over the Obamatax in White House tax speech

In a bid to gain election-year political points, President Obama announced Monday during a White House press conference that he would support extending the Bush-era tax cuts for people earning less than $250,000.

The president touted his fidelity to not raising tax rates on the middle class—a major 2008 campaign promise— while ignoring the Supreme Court finding that upheld the Obamacare mandate as a tax. According to The Blaze three-quarters of those being affected will be those earning less than $120,000.

In 2010 Obama signed a bill to extend all of the Bush-era tax cuts until the end of 2012. Now, continuing his attempt to frame the economic debate around two fundamentally different ways to grow the economy, Obama wants to claim he raised taxes only on the wealthiest Americans.

Huntsman Scolds GOP, Bails on National Convention

Former Republican presidential candidate  Jon Huntsman will not be among those attending the Republican National Convention next month.

The  former Utah governor scolded the Republican Party for what he considers its ignoring the country’s big issues and said not attend the Republican National Convention or future GOP gatherings until the Party abandons sound-bite politics.

Huntsman told The Salt Lake Tribune in a statement that he “will not be attending this year’s convention, nor any Republic convention in the future until the party focuses on a bigger, bolder, more confident future for the United States — a future based on problem solving, inclusiveness, and a willingness to address the trust deficit, which is every bit as corrosive as our fiscal and economic deficits.”

Atlas Summit 2012 begins in DC

The Atlas Summit 2012 – three days of lectures and sessions exploring Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism and its relevance in the partisan and confused world of modern American politics – kicked off in Washington, D.C. Friday.

It features sessions falling under the themes of applied objectivism, arts, philosophy, and politics and culture.

The summit’s sponsor, the Atlas Society, champions the free-market, free-minds, personal satisfaction ideas of writer and philosopher Ayn Rand’s magnum opus, her 1957 novel Atlas Shrugged.

Edward Hudgins, director of advocacy at the Atlas Society – led Friday morning’s introductory session, “Atlas Shrugged and the World Today” – outlining how the Democratic, or “Demolition” as he called it, and Republican parties have created an American political mess.

Obama’s claim he doubled Pell Grant funding is entirely false

With the extension of cuts to interest rates on Stafford student loans all but passed, President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party committees are now touting the President’s supposedly active interest in expanding the availability of Pell Grants.

Pell Grants are a form of needs-based government provided financial aid for low-income college students. Unlike student loans, federal Pell Grants do not have to be repaid.

Brewer Calls Obama’s DOJ Arizona Hotline An “Assault”

After Monday’s Supreme Court ruling Arizona v. The United States was released, President Obama and his Department of Justice went about undermining both Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and the remaining provision of the law that was not overturned,

To show his significant distrust of Arizona immigration policy, President Obama released a statement warning Arizona citizens to be mindful of potential law enforcement abuse, and the DOJ set up a “hotline” so that these potential civil rights violations could be reported.

In the Court’s decision, three of the four provisions of Arizona’s controversial 2010 immigration law, SB 1070, were overturned.

Supreme Court’s Arizona Ruling Leaves Key Questions Unanswered

On Monday, the Supreme Court delivered its much anticipated decision on the Obama administration’s challenge to Arizona’s 2010 immigration law, formally known as S.B. 1070. The court rejected much of the law but upheld the controversial provision that allows the state’s police to check the immigration status of people they detain—leaving both sides to declare some sort of victory and refocusing attention on President Obama’s negligent immigration policy.

Of the four sections in the law before the Supreme Court, the court backed a section referred to as “check your papers” that calls for police to check the immigration status of people they stop in traffic violations or are arrested for other charges.
