Gabriella Hoffman

Gabriella is the Campus Outreach Coordinator for Red Alert Politics.

She is a senior at UC-San Diego who balances life as a student with life as a conservative activist. She is majoring in Political Science and minoring in History.

She serves as the Executive Assistant on The Rick Amato Show, and produces the "Top Young Con " segment. She is a regular contributor and Liaison for UC-San Diego's conservative paper, The California Review.

Previously, Gabriella was a Sarah T. Hermann Intern at Young America’s Foundation’s Reagan Ranch Center and served as a New Media Intern for Ann and Phelim Media, LLC. She has written for several blogs and publications. She currently serves as an Assistant Editor of TheCollegeConservative.

Why is Obama speaking at the AIPAC Policy Conference next weekend?

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) recently announced President Obama will address this year’s Policy Conference in Washington, D.C., on March 4. President Obama is also scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who will speak at the conference, the following day. Though the President has spoken at the conference previously, it is curious why he will be attending, as his past actions do not suggest strong support for Israel.

President Obama claims to support a healthy United States-Israel relationship, but his words and actions suggest otherwise. Obama famously snubbed Benjamin Netanyahu during his 2010 United States visit. Additionally, he and his administration allowed the United Nations to influence, and ultimately slash, the development of Israeli settlements. Furthermore, the President and his ilk have emboldened Israel’s enemies, namely Iran and Hamas in Gaza.

Aspiring pundits get feedback from media pros

Breaking into the conservative movement, particularly in the media, is no easy feat. It is not just talent that gets you there: connections and being able to prove yourself are also required. Although difficult to penetrate, the realm of journalism does have windows of opportunity.

To enhance one’s chances of making it in the center-right media world, the Clare Booth Luce Policy Institute hosted the “Path to Punditry” workshop. Featured panelists included commentator S.E. Cupp, Regnery Publishing president Marji Ross, and National Review Online editor-at-large Kathryn Lopez.
