New York Senator Chuck Schumer says there’s no truth to claims that he ‘demanded an apology’ from pop superstar Beyoncé for lip-syncing the the National Anthem at President Barack Obama’s inauguration last week.

At a POLITICO Playbook breakfast Wednesday morning, the Democratic Senator and chair of the 2012 inaugural committee said the New York Post story that started the rumor is ” just made up.”

Paul Ryan hits back at Obama, says GOP doesn’t want “a dependency culture”

The goal of the government should be to help people “reach their potential” and “make the most of their lives,” not make them dependent on the state, House Budget Committee Chair Paul Ryan said Sunday morning.

In his first major interview since the presidential election, in which he and his running mate Mitt Romney were handily defeated by President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, Ryan defended his comment that “we’re getting toward a society where we have a net majority of takers versus makers” – a remark that President Obama indirectly slammed in his inguration speech last Monday.

WATCH: Paul Ryan breaks down America’s spending problem in one simple chart

America’s favorite chartographer Paul Ryan stopped by ‘Meet the Press’ this morning to explain that exponentially increasing amounts of federal spending is the problem, not the amount of taxes the government is collecting from the American people.

And it wouldn’t be a Paul Ryan budget lesson if it didn’t include a chart! Against MTP host David Gregory’s wishes, Paul Ryan whipped out a chart to explain that it’s the spending, stupid.

Hillary Clinton on Benghazi: “What difference at this point does it make” what caused the assault?

Tempers ran high Wednesday morning at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the Sept. 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton erupting at one point, “The fact is we had four dead Americans! Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make?”

Clinton’s outburst elicited a dressing down from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) who told her,”The American people deserve to know answers and they certainly don’t deserve to know false answers.”

Obamas “surprise” White House tourists

President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and First Dog Bo Obama ‘surprised’ visitors to the White House Tuesday afternoon by showing up unexpectedly during West Wing tour.

Michelle Obama tweeted about the surprise visit with a link to the White House’s livestream so that America could see the look on the tourist’s faces as they met the First Family.

Young inauguration goers happy to see Obama stay on as Commander-in-Chief

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Young people from across the country flocked to nation’s capital Monday to see President Barack Obama’s public inauguration at the U.S. Capitol, braving temperatures in the 40s for more than five hours in order to be a part of the symbolic event. Even though the President’s second inauguration wasn’t expected to be as grand or as historic as his first, for young people who were eligible to vote for President for the first time last year, it was just as special.

Many attendees of the day’s events were residents of D.C. or its border states of Virginia and Maryland, but others traveled long distances to see the inaguration, including Emma Nelson, Samantha Platnia and Lindsay LaCross, all 21, who drove 10 hours from the University of Vermont.

And while attendees of the festivities came from different places and backgrounds, many of them had the same thing in common: They were avid Obama supporters.

‘SNL’ ignores guns in Piers Morgan parody

Back from its winter hiatus, ‘Saturday Night Live’ launched its latest episode with a parody of the most controversial television host in America, Piers Morgan. The late-night variety show did not bring up Morgan’s obnoxious attacks on his pro-guns guests, however. Instead, Morgan was portrayed as a respectful talk show host with idiotic guests.

Impersonators of Lance Armstrong, Manti Te’o and Jodie Foster all appeared as guests on Morgan’s show in the parody, which served solely as a commentary on last week’s entertainment news rather than a rebuke on Morgan’s vexing show, ’Piers Morgan Tonight.’

Real Joe Biden tweets question at fake ‘Diamond’ Joe Biden during Reddit chat

Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama brought smiles to Internet savvy Americans’ faces Friday afternoon by playing along during a Reddit chat with The Onion’s fake ‘Diamond’ Joe Biden.

During the Ask Me Anything chat (AMA) the real Biden tweeted a picture to @reddit of him and a Corvette and the question,”A Trans-Am? Ever look under the hood of a Corvette?” with the hashtag #imavetteguy in response to a longstanding Onion bit that claims the VP drives a 1981 Trans AM, which he refers to as his “baby.”
