After election results, Chris Matthews says he is glad for Hurricane Sandy

In the midst of analyzing and celebrating President Obama’s reelection last night, Chris “thrill up my leg” Matthews issued an odd and insensitive statement in which he expressed gratefulness for last week’s devastating storm. “I’m so glad we had that storm last week because I think the storm was one of those things,” the liberal MSNBC talking head said. “No, politically I should say. Not in terms of hurting people. The storm brought in possibilities for good politics.”

While he clarified that he didn’t mean he appreciated the storm “in terms of hurting people,” his qualifier doesn’t change the fact that his statement was politically motivated and grossly insensitive. Viewers could hear co-host Rachel Maddow off screen issue an “ooooh” when Matthews said he was glad for the storm.

Election Day strategies: relaxed, overconfident Obama vs. desperate, determined Romney

The stark contrast between the two White House contenders doesn’t end with their party platforms or differing visions for the future of America – it extends right down to their last minute Election Day strategies. The Romney campaign has decided to hit the campaign trail hard on Election Day with several last minute campaign rallies for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, while President Obama will reportedly be playing basketball in Chicago and conducting a few battleground state television interviews.

But team Obama isn’t totally taking today off – in the wake of the Romney campaign’s surprise campaign stops in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia, Joe Biden has made an “unannounced” campaign stop in Cleveland, Ohio today. The one-upsmanship game seems to be being played right down to the wire.

[VIDEO] SNL’s Hurricane Sandy Coverage Gets Big Laughs

While Hurricane Sandy devastated much of the East Coast and reports estimate 1.4 million are still without power, the cast of “Saturday Night Live” brought much needed levity in the wake of one of the most horrific storms to hit the United States. With spot-on impersonations of abrasive New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, sedated big-gulp hating Mayor Michael Bloomberg and an expressive, yet distracting sign language interpreter featured during the show’s opening, the cast tastefully injected humor into a widely humorless situation.

Election-themed ’30 Rock’ episode delivers even jabs at Romney and Obama

Though the Emmy-winning comedy series “30 Rock” features outspoken liberal actors Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, the series’ election-themed episode featured evenhanded jabs as Baldwin and Fey’s characters issued their respective support of Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Even the lack of voter enthusiasm among Obama supporters was featured throughout the episode as one character tried desperately to gin up the “hope and change” excitement experienced in 2008.

“There’s No I in America” followed Liz Lemon (played by Fey) and Jack Donaghy (played by Baldwin) as they attempted to convince fellow NBC employee Jenna Maroney (played by Jane Krakowski) to vote for their Obama and Romney, respectively. Show writer Lemon issued liberal talking points to Maroney such as Romney wishes to gut arts programs, but would then jab liberals in another scene explaining to Donaghy that Maroney is a true liberal because she is “overly sensitive, prone to hysteria… and pro-gun control.”

[VIDEO] Liberal Video Parodies “Call Me Maybe,” Pushes Votes for Barack Obama

With just five days until the presidential election, a liberal group has taken the pop song “Call Me Maybe” and turned it into a push to reelect President Obama . In a parody of the Carly Rae Jepsen hit, a young, hipster girl in dreadlocks calls her Jewish grandparents, Bubbe and Zeyde and convinces them to vote for Barack Obama in a video titled “Call Your Zeyde.”

“Put down your bagel and lox before you check any box, and just think this thing through,” granddaughter Michelle tells her undecided grandfather Zeyde on the phone, before issuing a handful of liberal talking points for him to consider. From Medicare to immigrants to gay marriage, the folks at Schlep Labs run the gamut in this weird video, on why they think Obama deserves your vote.

As election nears, Romney pushes business experience in new ad and stump speech

Since the beginning of the election season, there’s been one very distinguishable difference between GOP White House contender Mitt Romney and Democratic incumbent President Barack Obama: business experience. And in the final days of his campaign, Romney is hammering home his message that it is his experience in business and as a job creator that voters should consider when going to the polls next Tuesday.

In a well-timed, one-two punch, the Romney campaign has simultaneously released an ad about Obama’s lack of business experience, and hit trail this morning, issuing a campaign speech with the same message. “We need a president who understands business, and I do,” Romney said to a crowd in Roanoke, Virginia this morning.

[VIDEO] Liberal ’30 Rock’ stars poke fun at Obama’s last four years in final season election episode

Though President Obama has received a lot of love as of late from his Hollywood admirers, the cast of the hit comedy “30 Rock” isn’t shying away from making jabs at him in their latest episode highlighting the impending presidential election. Set to air tomorrow night, the “30 Rock” preview shows real-life liberal and Obama-supporter Tina Fey, in character as Liz Lemon, floundering as she tries to come up with a single accomplishment for Obama’s first term in office.

During a tug-of-war scene with undecided voter Jenna Maroney (played by Jane Krakowski), Fey tries to persuade her to reelect Obama by saying, “What America needs is four more years of the stuff Obama’s been doing. Like… um…” at which point Lemon awkwardly tries to summon a reason, but is eventually cut off by Maroney.

Despite widespread criticism, Obama campaign pushes creepy “First Time” ad

The Obama campaign is not above going to great lengths, or rather, great depths to scrape up votes to ensure the reelection of President Barack Obama. These lengths include creating a highly inappropriate ad comparing voting to having sex and then promoting it via email to supporters despite the widespread criticism for the ad’s suggestive message.

In what has been roundly criticized as “creepy,” the Obama campaign’s disturbing “Your First Time” ad comparing voting for Barack Obama to losing one’s virginity has found new life in an email to Obama campaign supporters. Clo Ewing, a campaign spokeswoman tells potential Obama voters, “If this is your first time voting, you should know — it’s pretty easy. It can also be life-changing.”

She then insists that people watch the ad, stating, “You’ve got to see this video of Lena Dunham talking about her first time — it’s all over my twitter feed.” The email showed up in inboxes early this morning.
