Sandra Fluke Admits the Left is Losing the War on Women

The Left needs to change its strategy on communicating the War on Women if it wants to win over moderates said 30-year-old Georgetown Law Student Sandra Fluke said a panel at the Taking Back the American Dream Conference on Wednesday.

For months, the American Left has been playing up the faux “Republican War on Women.” But after a Kaiser Family Foundation poll released earlier this month showed only three in 10 women believe there’s actually a wide-scale effort to restrict women’s reproductive choices, the Left has had to come to terms with the fact that its framing of conservatives’ fight for religious freedom isn’t convincing anyone.

Liberal Panelist: Conservatives Hate Students

The Left’s fight against Voter ID laws took an odd turn today at the Taking Back the American Dream Conference in Washington, D.C. as liberals tried to claim that in addition to Latinos, African-Americans and disabled people, conservatives also hate students.

On a panel this morning’s Reversing the Right’s Offensive on Rights panel Executive Director for the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil RightsBarbara Arnwine claimed the Right’s push for Voter ID laws, which would help ensure that only United States Citizens are voting in U.S. elections, are a “purposeful and deliberate attempt” to suppress the voting rights of people throughout the country by what she could only describe as forces of “concerted evil.”

Panel Plays Up ‘Right-Wing’ War On Women

What was officially dubbed as an opportunity to discuss issues facing women today turned into an anti-Right wing rant at a panel during the Taking back the American Dream Conference in Washington, D.C.

Progressives on a panel entitled War on Women’s Health, Economic Security and Voting Rights made the case that the “war on women” narrative played up by the media is neither Republican nor Democrat.

Dems say Citizens United puts ‘democracy in peril’

Congressional Progressive Caucus chairman Rep. Keith Ellison says the Koch Brothers and the 2010 Citizens United decision that allow corporations and unions to spend unlimited amounts of money in elections has  put democracy into  “peril.”

Ellison made his comments during a panel Tuesday  titled “Overturning Citizens United: A Movement Mandate”  at the Campaign for America’s Future’s Take Back The American Dream Conference in Washington.

The congressman warned that the Supreme Court decision resulted in dirty, secret money being  spent on influence at both the local and state levels.

John Kerry Is Selected To Play Romney During Obama Debate Rehearsals

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will have to be on his toes during the debates this fall as the Obama campaign is already in debate preparation mode.

The Obama re-election campaign announced today that Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) was selected to play the role of Romney during President Obama’s debate rehearsals, according to The Washington Post.

Voting record purges could be a hot-button election issue

Voter ID laws and states purging voters from the voting rolls has emerged as a major issue  the current election cycle.

Florida has led the way in announcing plans to purge thousands of voters form the state voting rolls in the face of a Department of Justice lawsuit.

But there is more controversy in Tennessee, and this time it is a purging of a different nature.

State Democrats brought a federal lawsuit against Secretary of State Tre Hargett (R-Tenn.), but have admitted the current voter purge could be a mistake, because Democrat, Republican and Independent voters have all been affected.

Gallup Poll Shows Most Positive Views On Immigration Since 2006

The latest poll shows that 66 percent of Americans said immigration was a “good thing,” while 29 percent feel it is a “bad thing.”

Most notably, the 35 percent who “favor decreased immigration” is at its lowest level since Gallup started keeping track of the number in 1965.
