Congressional Black Caucus may stage walkout during Holder contempt vote

The Congressional Black Caucus might stage a walkout during the contempt vote of Attorney General Eric Holder, according to Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), who was on MSNBC’s The Ed Show last night.

Host Ed Schultz tried to portray Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) as someone who is on a witch hunt, who even went out of his way to use the tired accusation of racism on the part of Republicans.  Schultz tried to get Cummings to say it was about race.

Cummings did not take the bait, but he did not say anything to contrary, suggesting Schultz’s claims are true.

“I’m not going to say that. I leave that to other people to make the determination,” said Cummings.

Congress reaches deal on student loans

In a rare act of bipartisanship, both parties have come to a consensus—leaving President Barack Obama unable to blame the obstructionism of Congressional Republicans—as current student loan interest rates have been extended.

Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) have come to an agreement to keep student loan interest rates from 3.4 percent to 6.8.  It is believed that about 7.4 million students will be taking out loans over the next year.

Rasmussen: Majority Believe Federal Government is Encouraging Illegal Immigration

A new Rasmussen poll confirms that at least half of Americans are paying attention to President Obama’s high-profile decision to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants under the age of 30.

According to a Rasmussen Survey released Wednesday, by a 2-1 margin Americans believe government policies encourage, instead of discourage illegal immigration.

USDA Promotes use of Food Stamps, Actively Recruits Beneficiaries

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich once declared President Barack Obama to be the “food stamp president.”

Now, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is not only advertising the use of food stamps, they are taking the extra steps to promote and seek out the use of the government program.

Romney campaign reaches out to Millennials

The Romney campaign announced the launch of Young Americans for Romney campaign in a press release Monday.

The group will be headed by the candidate’s son, Craig Romney, and will spearhead the campaign’s outreach to younger voters.

Despite Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) poor showing with younger voters against President Obama in the 2008 election,  Sam Bain, chairman of the Ohio College Republicans and National Advisory Board member for the Leadership Team is  confident that Mitt Romney will have a better showing in November.

“I’m not a fortune teller, but it is certainly possible Romney could win the youth vote,” Bain said.

Crossroads Generation Video Pokes Fun at Obamacare, Joblessness

A new video by American Crossroads makes the argument that the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as “Obamacare,” is actually bad for young people, forcing them to pay more for insurance than they actually need. The video pokes fun at the superfluous provisions in the health insurance mandate and also high unemployment under Obama.

According to the video, Democrats claim Obamacare is a good thing for young people because they can stay on their parent’s insurance until they are 26  years-old. However, the narrator in the video takes the opportunity to jab at President Barack Obama by stating:

“I mean, who wouldn’t want to stay on their parent’s insurance? Especially in the Obama economy when you can’t even find a job to get your own health care. Ouch.”

Issa Stops Short of Saying Obama knew about ‘Fast and Furious’

On FOX News Sunday this morning, Chris Wallace hosted Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) Chairman of the House Oversight Committee and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) to debate the future of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Although Issa believes Congress and the American people were lied to, when asked by Wallace if he thought the White House was involved Issa flatly said no, suggesting he believes the president was directly involved.

Van Jones Rallies Liberals, Calls Conservatives Cheap Patriots and Bigots

President Barack Obama’s former “Special Adviser for Green Jobs,” and liberal activist Van Jones was more controversial than usual yesterday in his demonization of conservatives, saying the Tea Party wants “to repeal the 20th century” and calling Tea Partiers “bigots.”

Van Jones attempted to rally the liberal base of the Democratic party as his charged comments closed the Taking Back the American Dream Conference Wednesday.

Van Jones said on numerous occasions that the American Right was full of “cheap patriots,” and that it is the Left that are the true, “deep patriots.”
