Conservatives explain to Kimmel: You’re wrong on healthcare

The Graham-Cassidy bill to repeal and replace Obamacare seems all but dead, and Jimmy Kimmel significantly contributed to kill it.

On Tuesday night, the late night host accused Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) of lying to him regarding his health care proposal to fix the Affordable Care Act. Kimmel took on this political cause after his son, Billy, was born earlier this year with congenital heart disease.

“I don’t know what happened to Bill Cassidy,” Kimmel said in his Tuesday night monologue. “But when he was on this publicity tour, he listed his demands for a health-care bill very clearly. These were his words. He said he wants coverage for all, no discrimination based on pre-existing conditions, lower premiums for middle-class families and no lifetime caps. Guess what? The new bill does none of those things.”

Since his monologue, Kimmel has become the face of the resistance in spearheading any effort to repeal and replace Obamacare. However, the crux of the issue is that healthcare is not a “one size fits all” deal.

Conservatives are miffed that Kimmel, who never really dove into politics seriously prior to this week, is now being considered a health care expert by the media.

As of Friday afternoon, the Graham-Cassidy bill is one “no” vote away from failing.
