Jennifer Lawrence may have just propagated a theory that the United States is the target of all these horrific weather patterns and natural disasters because Donald Trump was elected president.

In an interview promoting her new movie Mother! with the British television station Channel 4 News’ Jackie Long, Lawrence, 27, suggested that the reason why the U.S. is experiencing severe hurricanes like Harvey and Irma, as well as the California wildfires, is because of Donald Trump and his supporters.

“We voted, and it was really startling,” Lawrence told Long. “You know you’re watching these hurricanes now, and it’s really hard especially while promoting this movie, not to feel mother nature’s rage and wrath.”

Long chimed in, saying, “It’s not just about climate change though is it, in America? It seems to be a time of huge division.”

“Yeah, it’s really polarizing and upsetting. You know I’ve heard things and seen things on T.V. in my own country that devastate me and make me sick, and it’s just really confusing,” Lawrence responded.

When asked if she thought President Trump is confusing, Lawrence replied, “I don’t find him confusing. I think I know exactly what he is.”

Earlier in the conversation, Long referred to her conversation with the director, Darren Aronofsky, about the dark nature of the movie, saying, “I mean when the director was asked about the film, why it was so dark, he said, ‘It’s a mad time to be alive.’ And there is certainly an end of days feeling about it. For many people, in America who would say, perhaps it’s truer there at the moment than anywhere else.”

“It’s scary,” Lawrence said. “You know, it’s this new language that’s forming, I don’t even recognize it. It’s also scary to know, that climate change is due to human activity, and we continue to ignore it, and the only voice that we really have is through voting.”

Back in 2016, Lawrence attempted to stalk Donald Trump at a concert she was attending, simply to insult him to his face, saying, “I was at a concert that I heard he was attending, so I had my full security…I was like, ‘Find Donald Trump.’ I was adamant on finding him and then making a video of me going, ‘Hey, Trump. F-k you! I wouldn’t rest until he was found, and I think he knew I was looking for him.”
