Comedian Dave Chappelle apologized Monday night about his “Saturday Night Live” monologue in November asking people to give President Trump a chance.
“I was the first guy on TV to say ‘Give Trump a chance.’ I fucked up. Sorry,” Chappelle said, according to MSNBC host Willie Geist.
Chappelle expressed his regret for his comments at the Robin Hood Foundation charity event in New York City, according to Geist.
In November, Chappelle shocked the “SNL” audience by wishing Trump good luck after he won the 2016 presidential election. “I didn’t know that Donald Trump was going to win the election. I did suspect it. … We’ve actually elected an Internet troll as our president.”
