Donald Trump’s insults travel far and wide, and eventually meet the desired target in the most unexpected way. On Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, the liberal comedian and pundit used Trump’s “Pocahontas” insult on Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) during a sit-down interview when discussing Trump’s tax reform proposal.
Trump began calling Warren “Pocahontas” on the campaign trail as a candidate because of Warren’s falsified claim of Native American ancestry.
Maher began criticizing Trump’s tax plan as “wouldn’t it be great if rich people didn’t pay taxes?” before trying to understand why Trump voters don’t back the progressive senator.
“They’re still with him. They’re not with you,” Maher said. “Explain to me what that disconnection is.”
Warren responded. “Actually, I’m going to push back. I disagree with you. When you talk…”
“Well, his fans are not with you,” Maher interrupted. “Come on! They don’t like you, Pocahontas.”
While Maher and the audience burst out into laughter, Warren angrily stared at the floor and completely shrugged off the remark before continuing on with her answer.
Either it means that Warren has thick skin, or she’s planning her revenge on Maher as you’re reading this.
Earlier on Friday, President Trump, in his NRA speech in Atlanta, referred to Warren as “Pocahontas,” saying that she would likely run against him in 2020.
