Following a roller coaster of a week for Ann Coulter, ABC’s The View invited the conservative writer and pundit to freely speak her mind on Monday morning.
While the substance of Coulter’s message clearly differs from the left-leaning hosts of the show, all the hosts came to the consensus that Coulter was silenced by UC-Berkeley because of her politics.
“We believe in free speech here,” co-host Joy Behar said.
“Berkeley, you made a mistake, man. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. That’s the law,” Whoopi Goldberg added.
The discussion was pleasant until the subject of President Trump came up. Coulter was asked about Trump’s low approval ratings, saying, “I think polls, apparently, don’t work in the age of Trump or at least when the poll question is about Trump. I still consider Trump the ’emperor god.'”
Coulter nearly drove the panel off a cliff when she said that Trump doesn’t lie, and that she doesn’t consider anything he said before he announced he was running for president.
Additionally when it came to Trump’s taxes, Coulter could care less about him releasing his tax returns, saying, “I think he enjoys driving the press crazy.”
She added that with respect to Trump’s tax reform proposal, she has no idea why people are discussing tax cuts.
“He didn’t campaign on tax cuts, that’s every other Republican.”
