The White House press corps hasn’t been too kind to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer since he took the helm in January. And the Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Comedy Central noticed.
Matt Negrin, who was recently hired by the political satire show, re-imagined Spicer handling questions thrown to him from actual kindergartners dressed like members of the press.
In the video, Spicer opens up with a question from a child version of ABC’s Cecilia Vega who asks if she can be the one to feed the fish today. However, Spicer gets constantly interrupted by “Glenn Thrush” donning his trademark glasses and fedora about getting permission to “go to the bathroom.”
“We’re going to raise our hands like big boys and girls,” Spicer says to the press.
“April Ryan” then says it’s her turn to feed the fish and gets scolded by Spicer for not being able to take “no” for an answer.
Another child asks about Russia, and things get out of hand as the room full of child “reporters” start chanting “we want tax returns!”
The skit is hilarious on its own, but is even better if you pay attention the White House press briefings.
