Chelsea Clinton has returned on the media circuit, you guys.

Promoting a her new children’s book It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!, the former First Daughter appeared on CBS “This Morning” and was almost immediately asked about her thoughts on politics, the new administration, and the possibility of running for office.

“Is there anybody else in the Clinton household thinking about running, and ‘by anybody,’ I mean you,” Gayle King asked. “I feel déjà vu with your mom all over again. You’re running?”

“No,” Chelsea responded. “I clearly don’t agree with our president, but I’m definitely not the right person to run to defeat [Trump] in 2020. So right now, the answer is no. But I think we all need to be asking ourselves that question periodically, and I hope a lot of young people will use the election to think, ‘Wow, should I run for public office? Am I the right person for a given job, whether it’s the school board or a senator?”

If there’s one thing Chelsea is right on, it’s this. Chelsea is “not the right person to run to defeat” Trump in 2020 because she’d never even make it past the Democratic primary.

Trying to force the American public to watch another Clinton presidential run would be similar to mandating us to watch the next Transformers film. They might add some special effects through celebrity endorsements and advertisements, but largely there’s no plot.

Given that Gayle King is best friends with Oprah Winfrey, maybe it’s time to pull at that thread and discuss her impending 2020 presidential run. After all, recent polls show that she can beat President Trump, 46 to 36 percent.
