Someone needs to hug former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton, and let her know everything’s going to be okay.
On Saturday, Clinton took to Twitter to share her disbelief that our 16th President Abraham Lincoln would wear a “Make America Great Again” hat.
Please tell me this is photoshopped. Please? https://t.co/WezDQx6IvT— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) March 25, 2017
The original tweet that Chelsea was quoting was from the cover of the 2017 Lincoln Day Dinner program for the Republican Party of Palm Beach at Mar-a-Lago.
Of course, Twitter made a mockery out of Chelsea’s tweet.
No, Lincoln actually wore that hat in 1865; it was found at Ford's Theater. https://t.co/SblPYHNnf0— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) March 26, 2017

@ChelseaClinton I remember this photo was taken at the 1856 Republican National Convention and. is real.— Monty Hfuhruhurr MP (@BanjoHfuhruhur) March 25, 2017
@ChelseaClinton Oh yes, Chelsea, it's as fake as the resume you have that earned an "achievement" award.— The Mental Recession (@rustyweiss74) March 26, 2017
@ChelseaClinton Lincoln just got off his unicorn and just when the Bosnian sniper fire started, he put the hat on.— USMC26 (@pjiusmc026) March 26, 2017
For months now, the mainstream media has subtly tried to push Chelsea into the spotlight with puff pieces and articles about what she says or thinks on social media.
Earlier in March, Chelsea announced she’s publishing a children’s book titled She Persisted to pay homage to 13 women in history who have defied norms, faced obstacles, and took down the patriarchy. Last week, Variety magazine along with Lifetime television announced they were awarding Chelsea with the “Lifetime Impact” award for her humanitarian work with the Clinton Foundation.
Not even Ivanka Trump could pay for the type of press Chelsea is receiving. While Chelsea is making headlines across the spectrum, Ivanka is quietly traveling to Germany at the invite of Chancellor Angela Merkel to promote her “Women Who Work” campaign at the W20 economic summit.
To quote the sitting President of the United States, “SAD!”
