Berkeley, California has become the epicenter of the fight between Trump supporters and the Antifa movement. Brawls broke out on Saturday during the scheduled March 4 Trump leaving seven people injured (including many senior citizens) and at least 10 arrested.

This is the second time in a month in which violence occurred in Berkeley after Antifa rioters shut down an event by former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos in February.

The event was intended to be a peaceful event, but it turned violent before the event even started.

Tito Mena of Stockton, CA told NBC Bay Area that he had hoped there would be productive discussion from both sides of the aisle. “We have a right in America to speak our opinions and speak our voice even if some others might think it’s wrong. As long as you’re not causing harm to others, I will uphold the right for everyone to speak.”

Saturday’s violence was far from that productive discussion as police had to quickly intervene.

The Los Angeles Times reported that police confiscated a number of weapons including metal pipes, bricks, bats, and two-by-fours.
