Democrats have spent the last two years calling President Trump a sexist who doesn’t respect women. However, when one of their own congressmen made a sexist joke about Kellyanne Conway, they shrugged it off.
At the Washingtin Press Foundation Dinner on Wednesday night, Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) made a joke about Conway’s infamous photo of her sitting on her knees in the Oval Office to take a picture of the President with members of HBCUs.
“Y’all seen that photo of Kellyanne on couch? She looks familiar in that position,” Richmond said.
The joke went off like a lead balloon. The audience was stunned and shocked by Richmond’s attempt at humor.
Just earlier that day, the Louisiana Congressman said he was celebrating Women’s History Month. His Twitter account became instantly filled with people calling him out for his sexist joke.

As of Thursday morning, no Democratic officials or women’s groups have asked Richmond to apologize to Conway.
