How politically correct of a culture have we become that we cannot even talk about enforcing immigration law? Evidently, bending over backwards so to not offend anyone has essentially destroyed our educational backbone.

According to a school district in Washington state, a teacher talking about reporting illegal immigrants goes too far. Even as we see college campuses looted and holding riots whenever a conservative speaker threatens them with a different point of view, educators talking about the law just cannot be tolerated.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, in response to the nationwide “Day Without Immigrants” protests scheduled for the next day, the unnamed teacher, who taught at Keene-Riverview Elementary School in Prosser, Washington, shared information about how to contact US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to report unauthorized immigrants. In response, the teacher was put on leave by the district on Friday.

According to the Yakima Herald-Republic, the post could have been viewed as “hostile” or “offensive.” It caused calls and visits from parents that the district described as “angry and concerning.” The district put the teacher on administrative leave due to “possible safety and security concerns.” The district’s press release also stated that the views expressed by the teacher do not reflect the views of the district, administration, or Board of Directors.

It truly is amazing how corrupt our education system has become. Instead of promoting American values, exceptionalism, and pride, our country’s curriculum is instructing how horrible America is through the advent of slavery. They never mention  what makes America great like when President Reagan described our nation as “the shining city on a hill.” We have spent most of our history liberating others from slavery. We defeated the Nazis and Imperial Japan. We destroyed the Soviet Empire and took down the Berlin Wall.

But our schools leave these details out of our history. As such, our academia has been saturated by leftist rhetoric. They tolerate discrimination against conservative students and riot against President Trump while at the same time promote “gender fluidity.”

If you speak up and say you don’t want men in women’s bathrooms, you’re transphobic. If you say you want equal time to voice your non-liberal opinion, you’re a racist. If you say you want people coming into our country the same way your grandparents did through Ellis Island, you have no heart. And if you’re proud to be an American, you’re the enemy.

This teacher was courageous in what she did. In a profession surrounded by radical leftists, she took her American pride and showed it to the world, even if it meant her losing her job. But she took a step that all conservatives can, and should, learn from. The only way we will win is by going against the tide.

If liberals pride themselves on “grabbing wallets,” we can seize on words. We can combat intolerance with information and replace propaganda with facts. We must inform and educate each other and the next generation, in order to do our part in making America great again.
