The son of a Philadelphia firefighter and a charter school special educator, Joe Picozzi has dedicated his professional life to proving that young people can make a difference. After middle school classroom debates ignited his passion for public service, Joe began his political involvement by interning for Pennsylvania State Representative Frank Farry. While still in high school at Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem, City Councilman Brian J. O’Niell appointed Joe to serve on the Philadelphia Youth Commission. He further immersed himself in public affairs placing as the top public forum debater in the City of Philadelphia three years in a row, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and winning the Sons of Italy Custodis Pacis Lodge 2085 and Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania scholarships to fund his college education.

His passion for making a difference led him to study in Washington DC. Elected the youngest Chairman in the history of the D.C. Federation of College Republicans, Joe successfully organized a campaign deployment to Bucks County, Pennsylvania to help elect President Trump, Senator Pat Toomey and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick. Selected to embark on AIPAC’s inaugural Bipartisan Allies Mission to Israel, he toured the Holy Land and received top-level briefings from embassy staff, university faculty and members of Knesset. A profound believer in the Republican Party’s inclusive vision of compassionate conservatism, Joe spearheaded the successful effort to establish a College Republicans chapter at Howard University and chaired the program committee that brought Caitlyn Jenner to keynote the 62nd Biennial CRNC National Convention.

Joe is a graduate of Georgetown University’s competitive Government program where he choose to concentrate his studies in Political Theory and American Government. He is a George F. Baker Scholar: Georgetown’s signature program for cultivating leaders who are both intellectually inspired and socially conscious. Joe was a finalist for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship and is a 2017 Hertog Fellow. He aspires to develop his passion for public service further through his new role as a Staff Assistant in the Office of the House Majority Leader.
