Liberals want to shut down ride sharing apps like Uber because it’s one less thing they can’t regulate and control. Well, as luck would have it, the shared economy driving service that relies heavily on mobile technology is venturing into the territory of shared law enforcement.
Keith Avila, an Uber driver in Sacramento, California, started his Monday shift like any other, but it finished with him disrupting a child sex trafficking ring, and saving a 16-year-old girl in the process.
In a Facebook Live video posted earlier this week at the scene of the reported incident, Avila tells the viewers he picked up two women and a teen, who he said “looked like she was 12 years old.”
He continued to say that he drove them to a Holiday Inn in nearby Elk Grove, California, and that while in the car, the women openly talked about delivering the young girl to a man named “John” and getting money from him.
Avila immediately called the police as soon as he dropped them off.
“The worst thing I thought would happen when driving Uber is that I would be getting drunk passengers and I would have to handle them,” Avila told NBC Latino. “All my life, I thought about people throwing up in the car as the worst scenario.”
It turns out the 16-year-old girl was a runaway, and was sent to stay in an “alternative housing situation.”
The two women, Destiny Pettway, 25, and Maria Westley, 31, were immediately arrested on the scene and charged with pimping and pandering.
Meanwhile in the same state, California liberals are interesting creatures, because while they want to shut down ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft, they’re turning around and legalizing child prostitution.
While Democrats still have no idea how they lost the presidential election, perhaps they should look in the mirror and see what they’ve become.
