Ohio Governor John Kasich’s attempts to position himself as the compassionate conservative who is moderate on most issues. But, it finally back-fired on him during the GOP Debate on Tuesday.
Throughout the debate, Kasich has defended increasing the minimum wage, granting amnesty to illegal immigrants, and Obamacare. His position on bailing out the banks, however, received boos from the conservative audience.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said he would let the big banks fail and Kasich came out slamming him as being dishonest.
When Cruz challenged him to if he would bail out the big banks, Kasich gave a bizarre undefined answer.
“I would not let the people who all put their money in there all go down,” Kasich said. “No, (I would not bail them out) as an executive I would figure out how to separate those people who could afford it versus those who people, the hard working people who put their money into those institutions.”
The audience tarred and feathered him.
