Red Alert Politics announced today that they have hired Ron Meyer as Editor.
Meyer is a former spokesman for Young America’s Foundation (YAF) and most recently was the president of Springboard Media Strategies. At YAF, Meyer founded the Youth Misery Index (YMI) and was editor of their blog, The New Guard. Meyer has been a frequent commentator on Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC regarding millennial issues, and plans to continue growing Red Alert’s youth presence.
Stephen R. Sparks, president of MediaDC, Red Alert’s parent company which also owns the Washington Examiner and Weekly Standard, said, “We are excited for Ron to bring his energy to Red Alert Politics and use his experience to refocus Red Alert on its mission to reach young Americans.”
Meyer said, “I am honored to join Red Alert and get to work engaging young Americans with the issues affecting our generation. Millennials are among the biggest consumers in online news, yet most outlets and political candidates ignore biggest stories defining our lives.”
“I plan to grow Red Alert’s reputation as the home for millennial news, polititainment, young professional trends, and edgy policy opinions. Stay tuned as we roll out new features and storylines,” Meyer added.
