Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina was criticized last week after video of her praising Hillary Clinton in 2008 surfaced. On NBC’s Meet The Press Sunday, she praised some of her Democratic opponent’s attributes once more before doubling down on the criticism that has dominated this campaign.
Fiorina called Clinton a “hard working” and “intelligent woman” who has “has dedicated herself to public service.”
“It is also true however, that she is not trustworthy,” she told host Chuck Todd. “That she has lied about some key things — Benghazi, her emails, her server.”
Todd interrupted to say that “lying is a big charge” and asked if Fiorina really knows that Clinton is lying.
“Oh, for heaven’s sakes! The night of the Benghazi attacks, we now know that the State Department and the White House knew this was a purposeful, pre-planned terrorist attack. Nevertheless, the next morning, she went into the State Department and she addressed the American people and talked about a video that did not represent the values of this nation. Several days later, she said the same thing over the bodies of the fallen. What she should have said was that this was a purposeful terrorist attack and we will seek retribution,” the presidential candidate explained.
Todd pushed again,”You believe she purposefully lied?”
“Absolutely, I do,” Fiorina replied.
