What could go better with a nice cold beer than shooting off a round or two of your favorite handgun? Now people in Daytona Beach, Fla. will have the chance to do both.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported that the city commissioners approved a measure Wednesday that allows for a 12-lane gun range, a restaurant that will serve alcohol, and retail store to open.
People did have concerns about the mixture of booze and guns in the same place.
“I’ve gone back and forth on this,” said Commissioner Pam Woods, he ending up voting in the affirmative for the business.
In the end, only Commissioner Ruth Trager cast the lone no vote for the new business.
Customers will be allowed to bring their guns or rent one on-site, the owners of the business said. However, someone who drinks an alcoholic beverage at the restaurant will not be allowed to go then to the shooting range.
The owners also said they will use the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database to track any customers who could be trouble, and he’ll be able to contact the police if need be.
Another precaution they are taking is banning all guns from the restaurant portion of the building with a metal detector at the entrance.
