How millennial votes are won in 2015: “Rock the Vote,” a nonpartisan group dedicated to making voting “cool” by teaming up with celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Lil John, hosted a packed White House Correspondents’ weekend kickoff party attended by Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford and 1,000 young D.C. journalists and politicos.
Fusion and Twitter sponsored the evening.
Party attendees sipped on ceviche and drinks from an open bar, with two DJs blasting Beyonce remixes for the upstairs and downstairs reception. (Who run the world?! etc.)
The party took place at the Blind Whino, a former Baptist Church converted into a hip, club-like event space covered with elaborate graffiti, but with stained glass still intact:
As the night wore on, guests took ample advantage of Twitter’s selfie-enabled “mirrors” to tweet party pics:
Sadly, Lena Dunham was apparently not in attendance, pantless or otherwise.
