OFA accuses Koch brothers group of bribing college kids with booze

Organizing for Action is accusing a Koch brothers group of bribing college kids to opt out of Obamacare — and supposedly using free booze to do it.

OFA, which served as President Barack Obama’s campaign engine in 2012 before being converted to a nonprofit, sent out a fundraising email from Chair Jim Messina on Thursday. In it, Messina calls the alleged behavior of the Koch brothers group “sick crap.”

This should humiliate anyone who’s ever been associated with the Koch brothers.

One of their anti-Obamacare groups is going to college campuses, giving away free booze to try to bribe young folks out of getting health insurance.

Let them spend their millions on sick crap like that. Whether they like it or not, they’re losing this debate, all because of the work you’re doing. We’re the group that’s capable of putting these groups in their place.

The email is an apparent reference to Generation Opportunity, a group promoting liberty and opportunity for young Americans that is often linked with the Koch brothers. GenOpp has hosted tailgating events on college campuses to encourage students to opt out of Obamacare, but the group doesn’t supply alcohol at those functions.

In response to OFA’s attacks,  GenOpp sent Red Alert the following meme. It features the face of Messina in a scene from the cartoon Scooby-Doo.
