[WATCH] Leno: Judging by Rob Ford’s poll numbers, Obama better off smoking crack than pushing Obamacare

Jay LenoJay Leno had plenty of cracks for President Obama Wednesday night, including an observation that Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s dabbling in drugs is better for poll numbers than Obamacare.

The host of “The Tonight Show” remarked that amid the tumult of the Obamacare rollout, Obama’s poll numbers have sagged to 39 percent. But in the wake of Toronto’s police chief confirming the existence of video alleging to show Ford smoking crack cocaine — which Ford admitted to doing this week — the mayor’s approval rating actually ticked up to 44 percent from 39.

“How does this make Obama feel, huh?” Leno asked during his opening monologue. “You’re better off smoking crack than passing Obamacare! Would’ve been up ten points! Would’ve been ten points higher.”

Leno dug further on issues of the Obamacare rollout, including the president’s shift on the ‘if you like it, you can keep it’ line, and prognosticating about the law’s ultimate fate with a ‘video metaphor’ showing a dog backing his way up a staircase derriere-first.

Let your mind wander as to what the punchline could be for that one.

Watch the monologue below; the relevant portions begin at about the 2:30 mark.
