President Obama has flip-flopped on his stance on a second dog. “One dog’s probably enough,” he announced upon re-election. But on Monday, the White House announced a new addition–Sunny, a 14-month-old Portuguese Water Dog, named for her friendly disposition.
“Sunny is the perfect little sister for Bo–full of energy and very affectionate–and the First Family picked her name because it fit her cheerful personality,” a White House blog post read.
The blog also noted that Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog the Obamas adopted in 2009, wasn’t getting enough doggie interaction. Sunny, besides her more official First Pooch duties, will fill the role of little sister, too.
