First Lady Michelle Obama gave an interview to Parade magazine and talked about her political future and why she shed those bangs.
When asked if she would ever run for president she gave a simple answer. “No,” FLOTUS stated.
She did say she thought there would be a female president in her lifetime. “Yes, I think the country is ready for that,” she said. “It’s just a question of who’s the best person out there.” That, of course, segued into a discussion of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and whether she would get the gig. “She hasn’t announced anything, so I’m certainly not going to get ahead of her,” the first lady said, laughing.
Moving away from politics, Obama explained why she decided to grow out her much-discussed bangs. “You know, it’s hard to make speeches with hair in your face!” she said. A month after the bangs made their debut, the first lady said they were her “mid-life crisis.”
“I couldn’t get a sports car. They won’t let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs,” she said in an interview with Rachael Ray.
Now, with her 50th birthday approaching in January, she says she has never felt more confident. “But I am constantly thinking about my own health and making sure that I’m eating right and getting exercise and watching the aches and pains,” she told Parade. “I want to be this really fly 80- 90-year old.”
