Rumors that Phil Robertson – host of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” – threatened to quit the show if guns and God are removed are not true, reports “TheBlaze.”
According to the Facebook page of radio station 93.1 The Wolf, TV network A&E asked Robertson if they could remove the religious- and firearm-related content from the show — but Robertson answered ‘no.’
“If we can’t pray to God on the show, we will not do the show,” he reportedly said. “God and guns are a part of our everyday lives to remove either of them from the show is unacceptable.”
People had apparently complained to the TV network about the “Duck Dynasty” including footage of the family praying and using guns, and the detractors had asked for the show to be removed from the air.
But the Facebook post from 93.1 The Wolf was apparently false.
Phil just said "Not to my knowledge." @benny_smith09: true A&E ask Phil not to pray show cause of liberals & atheists complained to them?— Missy Robertson (@MissyDuckWife) May 9, 2013
It is true that the popular show, which just completed its third season, has been granted a fourth season with A&E.
In NY city with A & E, so yes, we're baaack! Season 4 is coming, Jack!— Willie Robertson (@williebosshog) May 7, 2013
Robertson recently received attention for saying the family company, Duck Commander, was been built without government assistance.
Count on the scrappy Robertson family to keep fighting for the American way of life!
