That’s what the “Jerry Maguire” actor said on Twitter yesterday, as he called for a repeal of the Second Amendment shortly after two bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring more than 150 others.
What bothers me most about today is that we're getting used 2 it. ENOUGH. 2nd amendment must go. Violence has 2 stop. Culture MUST change.— Jay Mohr (@jaymohr37) April 15, 2013
Mohr then clarified his original tweet minutes later, arguing that the Americans have become too desensitized to violence and that we’re too used to seeing violence on TV these days. Perhaps he’s familiar with the testimony given by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ to the House Ways and Means Committee last week, as she just she made that same claim!
The 2nd Amendment lends itself to the CULTURE of violence we are living in. Stop blowing up my timeline w your gun/porn fetishes.— Jay Mohr (@jaymohr37) April 15, 2013
Naturally, gun rights supporters weren’t too pleased with his comments. So much so that Mohr basically told them to f*!@ off:
LISTEN! The 2nd amendment has nothing 2 do w 2day in Boston. I didn't say it did. Last few times in front of tv like this was guns. Fuckoff— Jay Mohr (@jaymohr37) April 16, 2013
At least he did finally admit that the Second Amendment wasn’t responsible for Monday’s bombings!
