The University of New Mexico (UNM) Student Union Board (SUB) will vote on a resolution this Wednesday afternoon which will decide whether popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A will be allowed to remain in the student union building.
The vote was scheduled after the student government organization, the Associated Students of UNM, passed aresolution last Wednesday which recommended removing Chick-fil-A from the student union due to the “company’s divisive history of contributions.”
Dan Cathy, the president of Chick-fil-A, has made statements in support of traditional marriage and donated to pro-traditional marriage organizations through the company’s charitable wing.
