Obama’s inaugural address wasn’t progressive, according to Stephanie Cutter

Despite President Obama delivering what has been dubbed one of the most combative inaugural addresses in U.S. history, former Obama for America deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter took offense to it being called “progressive.”

On Sunday, Cutter participated in a round table discussion on ABC‘s ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ where the group discussed the President’s inaugural address and upcoming State of the Union speech.

“I want to just take one note on the inaugural address.” Cutter said “You know, it has been described as a speech with a list of progressive ideas but if you actually look at what the President talked about that’s not progressive, that’s the center of the country right now.”

She added that Republicans, who are attempting to remake themselves, “need to realize where the country is.”

Cutter was joined on the show by Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), ABC chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl, Republican strategist Nicolle Wallace and Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.).
