Hilarious Video: McCain shuts down reporter after “dumb” Petraeus scandal question

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) shut down a reporter at a press conference this afternoon after the reporter idiotically asked the war hero if the investigation into the Petraeus sex-scandal was more important than the investigation into the Benghazi attack.

The smack down took place at a press conference on Benghazi being held by McCain and Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-N. H.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) .After rambling off the most recent details of the investigation, including that fact that an FBI officer stepped out of the chain of command to alert congressional leaders to the investigation, the reporter asked if, “putting that all together, do you think that’s a potential greater national security threat than what you’re talking about?”

“Well, I say with great respect, that’s one of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard,” McCain said in response.

“Alright,” the reporter can be heard saying defensively in the background.

“It’s four dead Americans. Four dead Americans,” McCain continues.

In one sentence McCain managed to sum up the stupidity of the media’s continued ignorance of the importance of the investigation into the Libyan attack in favor of focusing on anything and everything else.
