I’ve long suspected the Obama campaign sees women as nothing more than lady parts with a ballot, but today it was confirmed when the official campaign Tumblr told women to “Vote like your lady parts depend on it.” Both women and men were, understandably, outraged at the campaign reducing women to nothing more than the sum of their reproductive organs.
The Obama campaign immediately received a backlash from the right-wing via social media. So many things wrong with the statement that it’s hard to know where to begin.Women said that the statement was misogynistic, and they plan on voting with their brains. Women also pointed out that abortions aren’t really in their gender’s best interest, especially when those abortions are sex-selective.
Once the campaign team got wind of this, they pulled it from their account.
An Obama campaign spokesperson told The National Review via email that “We have a review process for our online content and this piece did not go through our regular review. When it was discovered, it was taken down.”
It was right to take it down, but how did it ever make it to the official Tumblr to begin with? Somebody on the team clearly thought it was an appropriate message, and it made it to the website. And once the backlash began, the campaign simply took it down like it never happened. Does the Obama campaign realize how grossly inappropriate the image was, or did it simply want to quiet the response?
Take a note, Obama campaign: As a woman, I plan to vote as though my country depends on it. My brain will make that decision.
Further proof being liberal means being a hypocrite
