Romney ad: If Obama can’t lead the Dems he can’t lead America

The Romney campaign has a new ad titled “Mute Button” out hitting President Obama’s leadership during the 2009 stimulus debate.

It notes that Washington Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward’s reveals in his recent book “The Price of Politics” that Nancy Pelosi put the President on mute during a conference call with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

“If he cannot lead his own party how can he lead America?” the narrator asks.

However, Pelosi has denied the event ever happened.

Obama top campaign adviser David Axelrod addressed the ad Sunday during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos Sunday and turned the tables on Mitt Romney.

Romney’s inability to break ahead of President Obama in the polls and his 33 point deficit against the President in Massachusetts shows he has failed to make his case to the American people, Axelrod said.
