Obama aides say president now has a personal ‘genuine disdain’ for Romney

For President Barack Obama, it’s now personal.

A new book cites Obama aides saying that the president has a “genuine disdain” for Mitt Romney.

“One factor made the 2012 grind bearable and at times even fun for Obama: he began campaign preparations feeling neutral about Romney, but like the former governor’s GOP opponents in 2008 and 2012, he quickly developed a genuine disdain for the main,” author Glenn Thrush writes in the soon-to-be released e-book “Obama’s Last Stand.”

Thrush — a reporter for Politico, which published book excerpts Sunday —- writes that Obama’s feelings for Romney are different from how he personally felt about other Republican opponents on the Hill and campaign rivals of the past.

“Obama, a person close to him told me, didn’t even feel this strongly about conservative, combative House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the Hill Republican he disliked the most,” Thrush writes. “At least Cantor stood for something, he’d say.”

“When he talked about Romney, aides picked up a level of anger he never had for Clinton or McCain, even after Sarah Palin was picked as his running mate. ‘There was a baseline of respect for John McCain. The president always thought he was an honorable man and a war hero,’ said a longtime Obama adviser. ‘That doesn’t hold true for Romney. He was no goddamned war hero.’”

President Obama out of control in anger at Mitt Romney, can you imagine if that was the case in the Olympics, that everyone hated their opposition, even from their own country? Note to President Obama, is the democratic freedom we have in the USA, I hope you respect that. If is too dificult for you, need to get out of the kitchen. I am very disappointed with Obama backlash, and I want to know why he was angry at Clinton, and which Clinton? So gets angry at anyone that outshines him, that is why he keeps apologizing for prior Presidential decisions. Too bad. May the best men for USA win as President!

I’m not really very surprised – Barry NEVER DID ANYTHING to move himself forward – he was always “the chosen one”. On the other hand, Gov Romney didn’t inherit what he has – he worked for it – HE made Bain Capital into the rich company that it became by use of business acumen and years of work.

Really, we have the REVERSE FAIRYTALE of the POTUS being the do-nothing person, while the challenger doing it all on his own.

Why would the President have any feelings about his opponent other than the desire to retain his presidency? The obvious answer is that he and his campaign people can’t talk up his record so their only thought is to discredit Mr. Romney. The sad part of it is that the President’s campaign is filled with devisive talk and unsubstantiated attacks. His campaign people want to deflect any and all discrediting talk by the Romney camp. You don’t have be a degreed political scientist to see what’s happening in the campaign strategy.

So now what? Go make no-no to the President’s campaign? That won’t stop them from using these negative ads. What it will give them is in the end a very polarized and hatefull nation. What might have consumed some of the racial division pre-2008 and pulled together various factions into a homogenious outpouring into a segmentation of race, wealth, and religious divisions. The upshoot of this president’s campaign will indeed tear apart all that was mended.
