On the Today Show yesterday Second Lady Jill Biden said of her husband, infamously gaff-prone Vice President Joe Biden: “I think Joe would make a great president.”

Mrs. Biden, who was promoting her new children’s book, Don’t Forget, God Bless Our Troops, was responding to a question about whether or not the 2012 campaign was going to be his last campaign.

Mrs. Biden said her husband’s support of the drawdown of troops in Iraq was something he would have done if he won the presidency in 2008.

Although showing her support for a potential presidential campaign for her husband in the future, Biden did not commit to anything.  She said she “didn’t know” if 2012 would be his last campaign.

Mrs. Biden said the vice president was putting his effort in President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

“I don’t know whether this is his last campaign,” she said. “We’re focusing on this campaign and winning this campaign. I take one campaign at a time,” said Biden.
