Saturday Night Live did an exceptional job of playing out how Biden might have felt after Obama stole the spot light by endorsing same-sex marriage this week.
Although Obama has received the credit for the evolution on the issue, Biden was the first to express support in an interview on Meet the Press.
The skit portrays Biden as a childish brat who is resentful of the President for taking the credit on the administration’s stance on same sex marriage. After Obama denies taking all the credit, Biden (played by Jason Sudeikis) asks him why he is dressed up, to which Obama (played by Fred Armison) replies, “I’m going to a gala with Lady Gaga and Elton John,” which causes Biden to throw a temper tantrum.
In the second half of the skit, George Bush (played by Will Ferrell) comes out of a bedroom closet and Biden complains to him, “It’s my big mouth that got things done this time, not his careful weighing of options.”
Bush defends and comforts Biden saying, “Those smarty pants guys are never going to understand speak first guys like us.”
At the end of the sketch Bush says to Biden, “If you had been my vice, I’d like to think we would have burned this city to the ground.”
