Romney Tops Obama in New Gallup Poll

A new Gallup poll released this week has Romney at 46 percent over Obama at 45 percent. This is after Obama spiked over Romney in the end of April due to Obama’s formal campaign launch.

The voters were asked: “Suppose the presidential election were held today. If Barack Obama were the Democratic Party’s candidate and Mitt Romney were the Republican Party’s candidate, who would you vote for Barack Obama, the Democrat or Mitt Romney, the Republican?”

Undecided voters were asked if they lean more toward Obama or Romney and their answers were also included in the results.

Maybe Obama’s hot new ads are not helping his general election campaign as much as we thought, but one percentage point is nowhere enough for Romney to get comfortable.
