We only do a tweet of the day when RAP thinks a tweet is really funny. So Mitt Romney communications director Eric Fehrnstrom (@ericfehrn) should be honored!
After comparing his boss’ campaign to an Etch A Sketch yesterday on CNN, politicos around the nation spent the day criticizing and mocking the comment. Democratic PAC American Bridge even put together a “Romney: The Etch A Sketch Candidate” video highlighting statements Romney says he no longer stands by.
Today, Fehrnstrom won the day with this hysterical, self-depricating tweet:
Congratulation, Eric Fehrnstrom on winning our coveted “Tweet of the Day!

Egad, do I feel really old now. Before Etch-a-Sketch, there was a pusrrceor toy (and I forget what it was called) that was a piece of transparent waxed paper attached to a black-covered cardboard backing. You drew on the waxed paper with a wooden stylus, and your lines stuck to the black background. Once you were done, you could simply lift the paper, and poof, the drawing was gone and you could do it all over again (at least until the waxed paper wore out). I also remember when all jack-o-lanterns were made out of painted papier mache instead of plastic.
